Democrat's Say the Darndest Things!

Remember the TV Show hosted by Art Linkletter who had a segment about kids saying the darndest things? Very funny stuff comes out of kid's mouth. Adults are supposed to be more sophisticated and are presumed to know that words mean something. However, this is not the case for Democrats in general and Liberal Democrats in particular. This is probably due to the fact that they have the scenario in reverse and we the public are the kids who are to dumb to understand what they are saying.

Just today, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said that it is imperative for the government to reduce over time the debt that is piling up as a result of the government's response to recession and financial market turmoil. Huh? I have a plan....stop the bailouts and alleged stimulus plans and viola....the debt will reduced now. The programs and pork being created by all these bogus spending plans will never, I repeat NEVER be dropped. Now let me explain how Democrats cut a budget item. First, pass a budget bill increasing an item from $5M to $10M. Follow me so far? Second, the next day announce that this budget item has been cut to $7.5M. Third, hold a press conference and tout that you have cut this budget item by 25%. The lap dogs in the press will eat it up. The public will.....oh forget it. What you say? The budget item actually went up 50%? The response: what can be expected from a right-winger who hates poor people and polar bears who have to indure this 25% cut. Uncaring Bastards!

Next item....I was checking out the Boston Globe website and came across this beauty. The Govenor of Massachusetts is proposing a $2 Carbon Tax on parking at Boston's Logan International Airport to discourage people from parking at the airport and to encourage that they use public transportation. The gem of an idea comes just 14 months after the state finished building a $15 billion tunnel project designed in large part to improve driving access to Logan. These people are hilarious.

Stick with me on Massachusetts for a second....a group of Mass businesses (make that liberal businesses) are promoting the idea of a 25 cent increase in the gas tax for motorist to fix the the roads in the state......and this will....hold on....get ready....."increase the business climate in Massachusetts." Love it, I know the first thing I will do when my gas tank cost more to fill up is to drive around and support the local businesses...chuckle....actually the only business that would see more traffic would be Chevron or Shell. Add this to the recent tax scheme proposed in the state for taxing motors by the mile.....that should increase the business climate. Taxachusetts has some of the funniest people. They must stay up all night thinking of this stuff.

Moving on...How about the funny stuff coming out of President Obama's mouth lately. Today he urged the public to buy stocks! I guess he means we should by stocks before they run out. At the rate he is going, a dow average in the 50-100 range is not far off. Better hurry before the shelves are bare.

How about this gem on CNN on December 7, 2008. Obama has repeated this mantra over and over so you will believe the words coming out of his mouth:

CNN) -- President-elect Barack Obama issued a warning Sunday to officials around the country who want to fund projects with federal dollars: no more business as usual.

Decisions on projects won't be made "simply based on politics," President-elect Obama said on "Meet the Press." Obama said: "What we need to do is examine: What are the projects where we're going to get the most bang for the buck? How are we going to make sure taxpayers are protected? "You know, the days of just pork coming out of Congress as a strategy, those days are over."

Another funny line by the Presidential Jester....these days are over....good one. Over until yesterday as ABC reported:

"President Obama to Sign Pork-Laden Omnibus Spending Bill"
March 02, 2009 8:29 AMTheresa Cook-->
Obama administration officials Sunday announced that despite expressed "concerns" with the billions in earmarks contained in the $410 billion omnibus spending bill -- and campaign pledges to "slash earmarks by more than half" -- the President would sign the bill.

Of course, ABC (All Barack Coverup) noted that Obama had already signed to major pieces of legislation with ZERO....repeat ZERO pork spending. This included the remarks by White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel noted on Face the Nation that when "President Obama came to office, two major bills were passed without earmarks. The major economic recovery act -- earmark-free; the children's health care bill -- earmark-free. He has said clearly his policies about earmarks, which is you've got to be -- more accountability, more transparency, and a reduction."

As David Letterman would note on his Top Ten Countdown (if he were not in the tank for Obama), lets look at the "earmark-free" stimulus bill:

1. 8 billion for high-speed railway (including an earmark for an Los Angeles to Las Vegas
2. 1 billion for the “FutureGen” not-ready-for-primetime near zero emission plant in Illinois
3. 3 billion for Amtrak
4. 24 million for USDA buildings and rent
5. 50 million for watershed rehabilitation
6. 200 million for public computer centers at community colleges and libraries
7. 650 million for the DTV converter box coupon program
8. 300 million to purchase scientific instruments for colleges and museums
9. 210 million for State and local fire stations
10. 32 million for home-delivered nutrition services

The list could be the top 10,000 but that would go against my TV angle in this blog. My favorite is the Harry Reid High Speed train to Las Vegas. I would save money by combining #1 and #3 above...just make Amtrak go faster. In addition, the high speed only needs to be one way.....get the suckers into town and put them on a slow train back to LA.

Well, to Harry Reid, wherever you are....thanks for the Pork and ....Póg ma thoin!

No wonder it took me so long to find this blog - is blarney intentionally misspelled?

Well, it's pretty funny stuff, in general. But you can't waste all your bile on silly liberals... what about all the idiots around us every day? Surely you can use some of their antics as source material.

And no, I am not giving you permission to talk about me.
